Don’t Let COVID-19 or Social Distancing Derail your Puppy Training Efforts

Puppy training classes may be cancelled during COVID-19 and social distancing, but you can still receive puppy training help remotely!Need help training your new puppy? Unfortunately, social distancing required by the COVID-19 crisis has led to the cancellation of all in-person puppy training classes and private lessons. But don’t despair! Help is available from a Karen Pryor Academy Certified Professional Trainer (KPA-CTP). We can help you train your puppy using fear-free, positive-reinforcement training methods, and with the tool of remote, “live” online training.

We design custom training packages for all our clients that are appropriate for puppies 8 weeks to 6 months old. The younger the puppy, the better! Our training focuses on communication and relationship building with your dog. We help you teach your dog how to behave appropriately and live in our world using kind and effective science-based training methods that work and are fun! We aim to help you meet your training goals – whether they be dog sports, therapy dog work, canine good citizen titling, or simply to have a confident, fun and well-behaved “good” family dog.

Our package includes:

  • Basic manners and life skills
  • Guidance and support for house training, crate training, puppy biting and chewing, exercise, safely puppy proofing the house, introduction to other household dogs
  • Preparing the puppy for grooming and vet visits
  • Unique approaches to the all-important task of socializing your puppy during this extraordinary time of necessary social distancing and in-home quarantines.
  • Email and phone support during the training package time frame

We also offer “before the puppy arrives” consultations to prepare you for your new puppy.

Trained puppies and dogs that are socially appropriate are granted greater freedom in their lives, and are welcome to join their humans out in the (non-COVID-19) world. Let us give your puppy the best start possible for when we can all leave our houses again!
